X-ray and Ultrasound

Non-invasive diagnostic tools used to identify internal issues and provide targeted medical care.

PetFocus Bedford South has a digital x-ray system which ensures that your dog has minimal exposure to radiation while capturing a clear image for our veterinarians to accurately assess your dog’s condition. We are also lucky enough to have ultrasound capabilities at our practice. Ultrasound is used when we need to have more specific information about specific organs.

How do you use x-ray and radiology services at your clinic?

We use radiology to look for bone abnormalities, osteoarthritis and joint evaluation. We also use it to see potential intestinal blockages, evaluate heart size and placement, view lung fields among many other reasons.

How do you prepare your dog for their x-ray appointment?

There is not much to be done to prepare a dog for x-ray unless they are being sedated. If so, they will need to fast the night before.
